Is your Source of Omega-3 Rotten?
No one in their right mind would ever eat rotten fish; however those who take fish oil as an omega-3 supplement could be subjecting their body to spoiled fish oil. Fish oil is known to immediately oxidize as soon as it’s extracted from the fish and exposed to air, long before it is placed in a capsule. There is no way to assure that every fish oil capsule you take is fresh, it’s just too unpredictable. A chance no one should take, especially considering that rancid oil can increase the risk of heart disease, and blood clots, a reference from Dr. Mercola’s post according to “Rufus Turner, leading expert on oils at the University of Reading in the U.K.”.
There is a safer way to receive Omega-3 and that is through krill oil rather than fish oil. Krill oil also offers many other health benefits that you will not find in just fish oil such as having a flavonoid which is know for its anti-oxidant effects, and is more easily absorbed than fish oil allowing you to take fewer pills.
The Two Most Important Things to Prevent Rancid Sources of Omega-3
1. One of the first things you should consider doing to assure your fish oil is not rancid, is to not use fish oil, rather switch to krill oil instead. Krill oil com,es from a tiny shrimp like creature loaded with anti-oxidants that prevent the oxidation and are in forms of phospholipids which deliver the fatty acids directly to your body’s cells. Fish oil does not have these phospholipids and instead contains omega-3 fatty acids in a lesser beneficial form of free triglycerides.
2. What the oil is carried in is another important attribute that will influence the rancidity of the oil. New and Imprved Krill oil to is offered in new Caplique’s instead of the softgels. The Caplique’s are much more effective in sealing out oxygen, allowing the oil to remain fresh.
Here I have only mention just a couple of the many reasons why many have switched over to krill
oil. If you haven't already checked out Dr. Mercola’s site I highly recommend that you do and listen to what he has
to say about this amazing source of omega-3. You may find yourself
surprised of the many health benefits one can receive from this wonderful supplement. We simply can not rely on just plant sources and fish to be our
primary sources of omega- 3 anymore, I highly recommend check out krill oil.

Great information and exactly what I wanted to know after reading your comment on my hub. Rated up!
Wow, very interesting! I had no idea that there was such a difference. I had heard that krill oil was the best, but didn't know exactly why. Good info, and this will make me look at which omega 3's I'm getting for next time. Thanks and take care!
Wow! Thank you for telling me this. I'm going to share this with all my friends. (And I've just removed a dead little fish out of the tank. Phewwww.) I wonder how much rotten fish oil did I take in until now?
I believe the miracle of Omega-3 for our health. Thanks for share with us. I learn much from you, Buddy. Keep on writing. Happy New Year.
